Arab Gulf states reported new missile and drone attacks Sunday after Iran threatened to widen its campaign as the war in the Middle East entered its third week.
Israel and the United States attacked Iran on Feb. 28, saying they were striking nuclear and military sites and encouraging the Iranian people to rise against their leaders. Iran has responded with attacks against Israel and neighbouring Gulf states. The war, which shows no signs of ending soon, has upended global air travel, disrupted oil exports from the region and sent fuel prices rising across the world.
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates warned residents on Sunday that they were working to intercept incoming projectiles, a day after Iran called for the evacuations of three major UAE ports, threatening for the first time a neighbouring country's non-US assets.
Iran earlier accused the US of using "ports, docks and hideouts" in the UAE to launch strikes on Kharg Island, home to the main terminal handling .

A consumer commission in Maharashtra's Nagpur has pulled up Axis Bank for "deficiency in service", directing it to provide a refund and pay Rs 10,000 as compensation to a customer who lost Rs 5,000 in a failed ATM transaction eight years ago.
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Additional DCF), Nagpur, termed the non-receipt of cash after the amount got debited from the customer's bank account at an ATM as "a serious matter".
It is the bank's responsibility to examine such transactions and to give immediate relief to the customer, the commission asserted.
In a verdict delivered last month, the commission found that the bank didn't take the complainant's grievance "seriously" and failed to provide a fair hearing through the ombudsman process.
The failed transaction dated back to August 19, 2018, when the complainant, a resident of Nagpur, claimed he attempted to withdraw Rs 5,000 from an Axis Bank ATM.

Air India has detected large-scale discrepancies in the utilisation of its leisure travel policy, involving more than 4,000 employees and has initiated corrective actions, including imposing penalties on the erring staff, according to sources.
Loss-making Air India was acquired by the Tata Group in January 2022, and the airline, which has faced multiple headwinds in recent times, is also in the midst of implementing an ambitious transformation plan. The airline has more than 24,000 employees.
The sources in the know told PTI that the large-scale discrepancies in the use of Air India's Employee Leisure Travel (ELT) policy were detected after a detailed internal investigation.
The ELT policy allows a specified number of free air tickets for individual employees and their nominees, including spouse and parents. These are subject to certain conditions.

High-resolution cameras installed in a Vande Bharat train, as well as AI technology, helped authorities catch the culprits who threw stones at the train in the Muzaffarnagar area of Uttar Pradesh, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The minister said that Vande Bharat trains are fitted with many safety features, including an anti-climbing feature that prevents one coach from climbing onto another.
While mentioning the safety features in response to queries during Question Hour, Vaishnaw referred to the high-resolution cameras in the trains and the incident in Muzaffarnagar.
"(Vande Bharat) trains are fitted with high-resolution cameras. In a recent incident in the Muzaffarnagar area, we could catch the culprits who were throwing stones on a Vande Bharat train just with a very small picture of a person captured on the camera, and by using some AI technologies, which helped us reach exactly the house where the person was residing," the minister said.
